How to Raise Healthy Habanero Seedlings
Healthy seedlings are the foundation of a productive pepper farm!
I will always emphasize starting right by giving your crops a solid foundation by giving it the best during nursery stage.
Strong and healthy seedlings means higher yields later.
Here’s what we do to get vigorous, disease-free habanero seedlings:
1️⃣ Use quality seeds: Always start with disease-free, viable seeds from reputable brand or supplier.
You can contact us if you need to purchase seeds. We supply nationwide.
2️⃣ Prepare a rich nursery mix: I Combine coco peat and peat moss potting soil (Primasta potting soil) for good drainage and aeration.
3️⃣ Maintain the right moisture: Keep the soil moist but never waterlogged. I water the seedlings once a day and in the morning.
4️⃣ Provide warmth and light: Habanero seeds germinate best between 25–30°C. So I wrap seedlings trays with mulching film to enhance germination rates. Also ensure the seedlings have access to good sunlight once they sprout.
5️⃣ Feed them early: Start light foliar feeding once the first true leaves appear to boost growth.
6️⃣ Harden before transplanting: Gradually expose seedlings to outdoor conditions before moving them to the field.
